Database Operations Specialist
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Team located in Krakow is responsible for acquisition and exposure of DB content for all core products: availability, shopping, booking, and fulfillment of flight connections and tickets.
IMPORTANT: working hours on this position are from 10:00 to 18:00 CET;
additionally one week every month we provide on-call support (in case an issue on production happens during that time, we are obliged to log in to system and take appropriate actions)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Onboarding of Supplier DBA Advanced Support team (Final Support Tier)
Environment access for Ops/ Advanced Support team verified & IAM roles defined
Understanding of ticket assignment Process and Lifecycle
Identify current toolset configuration and CI's
Gather and Validate reporting requirements
Incident, Problem and Change Management Process study
Perform DBA roles and responsibilities
Track and manage complete ticket management life cycle using ITSM tools (SNOW)
Create documentation and update knowledge repository for known issues.
Analyze and Diagnose OEM reports and identify the challenges with the system stability.
MUST BE STRONG IN ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Proficient in day to day DB maintenance activities.
Installation of Oracle Software and Databases.
Good understanding of Oracle Grid, Clusterware and ASM.
Upgrading and Patching Oracle software and databases. Apply PSU and one offs on RAC databases.
Deployment of disaster recovery plans using Data Guard(Logical/Physical).
Setup replication using Golden Gate.
Data movement using expdb/impdp
Backup and recovery
Experience in DB migrations to cloud or on prem data centers.
Good understanding of ITSM concepts.
Ability to technically lead projects and proven experience in doing complex and critical database migrations/upgrades
Work independently and as well working extremely well with other teams and the customer on a daily basis
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Lead DB migration projects from on prem to cloud or other on prem data center.
Excellent analysis, debugging and troubleshooting skills, and persistence in problem solving.
Expert in identifying root cause of the performance issues and providing resolution across all area of database and infrastructure.
Ability to engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies.
Ability to work with business, architecture, development and technical teams to manage and provide regular solutions for infrastructure stability.
SKILLS
MUST
MUST BE STRONG IN ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
HANDS ON EXPERIENCE IN ORACLE 19C AND UNDERSTANDING OF COUCHBASE (DISTRIBUTED MULTI-MODEL NOSQL DOCUMENT ORIENTED DATABASE
10+ years of experience with 24x7 Production and development databases.
BS/BA or MS/MA in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines preferred, or equivalent years of experience
Database admin at mission critical web-service company with high availability.
Min 8 yrs experience in Oracle with expertise in Oracle RAC Databases.
6-8 yrs experience of Golden Gate and Data Guard(logical/Physical).
5 yrs Experience in DB migration to cloud or on prem data centers.
3-5 yrs experience in Cloud database technologies(AWS, Oracle, Google)
NICE TO HAVE
Other RDBMS technologies Couchbase, MySQL, MS Sql, Informix preferred.
Good to have cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
DBA certification required
